Disinfection of the water lines is recommended by chlorinating and flushing the pipework of the house after installing the system to get rid of bacteria, viruses and dirt in the water pipes by letting the chlorine flow through the pipe system and let it sit for a few hours. After that you flush both hot and cold water pipes thoroughly. This will clean and disinfect the pipes. You can find instructions on how to disinfect your water pipes in the owner’s manual that comes with the system.
The UV-lamp has a lifespan of 365 days of continuous use. After a year, UV light weakens and isn’t strong enough to properly treat your water. Replacing your lamp annually with a genuine factory lamp ensures optimal system function.
Depending on water quality and usage, average replacement interval is 5 -12 months. A gradual drop in water pressure after the filtration device or odours from the water is an indication that the pre-filter cartridges are near the end of their useful life.
