The quartz sleeve acts as a barrier between the UV lamp and the water. Unlike standard glass, this high-quality fused quartz is designed to transmit over 90% of UV-C light, ensuring the disinfection process is not compromised. Over time, mineral buildup (scaling) or scratches can block this light, reducing the system’s safety.

Maintenance & Replacement

While the sleeve does not need to be replaced as often as the lamp, it is vital to inspect it during your annual lamp change. If the sleeve is cracked, chipped, or permanently cloudy due to hard water scale, it must be replaced immediately.

Installation Note

For a secure, leak-free installation, the rubber O-ring that seal the sleeve should be replaced whenever a new sleeve is installed. Old O-rings can become brittle or compressed over time. Please add the compatible O-ring to your order to ensure a proper seal.
